Robert James Rallison was born May 14, 1996, in Chandler, Arizona. He grew up in a Mormon family; his mother, Janette Rallison, is a published author. He has a twin sister (Faith) and other siblings. He attended Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona, before relocating to Glendale, California.

In August 2014, Rallison launched a YouTube channel called TheOdd1sOut, expanding from static comics to animated storytime videos. These videos put voice to many of his comic characters, as he narrated life stories, reflections, and funny mishaps. He rapidly built an audience: by 2016 his channel was taking off, reaching hundreds of thousands of subscribers, then millions.

Transition into Voice Acting

Though TheOdd1sOut videos are self-narrated, Rallison eventually made more formal voice acting roles in web series and short films. He is credited as voice actor in a number of web series beyond just his own content. He brings characters to life, often minor but memorable all-characters appearances. This transition illustrates his expanding skill set from animator / narrator to performer of voice acting roles.

  • Meta Runner – Rallison voiced a male civilian in the episode “Wrong Warp”.
  • How It Should Have Ended – He voiced a character named Martha in the web series, specifically in “The Martha Origin Story”.
  • Oddballs – A Netflix animated series that he co-created; he voices the character James, in addition to being creator and executive producer.

These roles show he is not just narrating but performing distinct character parts.

Collaborations with Other Creators

Rallison has worked with other prominent YouTubers and animators. For example:

  • The song and video Life Is Fun with Boyinaband.
  • Good Person featuring Roomie.
  • Appearances in YouTube Rewind videos.

These collaborations often merge his voice actor / narrator identity with music, animation, and communal online content.

Future Projects and Aspirations

While specifics are less documented, Rallison continues to expand the scope of his creative work. With Oddballs on Netflix, he is firmly in scripted animated TV as well as online shorts. It is likely he will seek more voice acting roles, perhaps in movies or more series, perhaps voice actor roles beyond his “own characters” or projects. Given his path so far, further collaboration, maybe more book work or adaptations, can be expected.
