Lackadaisy is an animated adaptation of Tracy Butler's long-running webcomic of the same name, set in St. Louis during Prohibition. It follows the cats of the Lackadaisy Cafe — a speakeasy thrown into crisis after the mysterious death of its owner — as they try to keep their bootlegging operation alive against rival gangs and their own internal cracks.
The animated side of the project began with an independently funded pilot short, "Lackadaisy: The Manor of Mixed Mysteries," built around the comic's signature blend of Jazz Age style, screwball banter and sudden violence.
